ABOUT US |
SPIERHEAD WINERY AND VINEYARD SpierHead Winery and Vineyard is situated along Spiers Road on the benchlands of south east Kelowna, one of the newest wine regions in the Okanagan and part of the East Kelowna Wine Trail. The tasting room is less than nine kilometres from downtown Kelowna. Our focus is on premium quality wine which we produce from grapes grown on our estate vineyard and Black Sage Road, south of Oliver. The hand harvested grapes are sorted at the winery and fermented in small lots. As visitors enter our property the driveway winds through a McIntosh apple orchard and pinot noir vineyard. Parking is amongst the vines, next to a pumpkin patch in front of the winery. The wineshop features photography and paintings, all with a vineyard theme. Visitors can purchase an assortment of small snacks to enjoy while sipping a glass of wine in our licensed picnic area. SpierHead Winery produces two white wines: Riesling and Chardonnay. We also produce three red wines: Pinot Noir, and two Bordeaux style blends: Pursuit and Vanguard. The winery building is nestled into a north-facing slope, allowing for a completely underground barrel cellar. We age our red vintages for 18 months in 100% French oak barrels. Our extensive barrel program includes cooperage from Cadus, Taransaud, Fouquet, Sylvain, Vicard, Francois Freres, Remond, Dargaud & Jaegle, Mercier, Demptos, and Saury. SpierHead Winery is a member of the East Kelowna Fab Five Wine Trail.
Attention Golfers! Tally up your score card and work on your short game at SpierHead. Since we’re located between two championship golf courses (The Harvest and Gallagher's Canyon)
