SPIERHEAD WINES

2010 Riesling - SOLD OUT

In order to ensure maximum concentration of this wine, our estate grown riesling
was not picked until November 15, 2010. Only 101 cases were produced. The wine maintains
its balance while exhibiting a variety of citrus notes.

2010 Chardonnay - $21.90

The grapes for our 385 cases of chardonnay were whole cluster pressed to allow for gentle juice extraction. The wine has minimal oak influences with freshness evoking orchard fruits.

2009 Merlot - SOLD OUT

This wine was fermented in small lots. Our 151 cases of merlot spent 18 months in French oak. This has produced a soft, accessible wine which exhibits characteristic varietal fruitcake aromas.

2009 Cabernet Franc - SOLD OUT

We produced just 71 cases of this wine. Its telltale herbaceous flavours combine with moderate tannins to create a wine that is elegant from the start.

2009 Cabernet Sauvignon - $27.90

Fully ripe at harvest, this cabernet sauvignon has sufficient acidity and tannin to allow for aging. Our cabernet sauvignon was aged for 18 months in 75% new French oak, and 210 cases of this wine were made. The wine's bouquet suggests black currant, chocolate, and eucalyptus.

2009 Vanguard - $29.90

Our consulting winemaker, Tom DiBello, selected specific barrels to make up 214 cases of SpierHead's signature Bordeaux blend. This balanced wine with hints of dark berry consists of 45% cabernet sauvignon, 45% merlot, and 10% cabernet franc.
